LabX86 is a telecommunications and electronic engineering consultancy. We assess, design and optimise the communications infrastructure of mine sites, agricultural estates, distribution centres and oil and gas facilities. We do not supply equipment: our contribution is engineering judgement.

Assessment of existing infrastructure
We measure the actual condition of the network: effective coverage, latency, saturation, interference and single points of failure. The outcome is a documented diagnosis and a prioritised schedule of interventions.

Expansion projects and new installations
Site survey, link budgets, topology definition, equipment specification and budget estimate. The deliverable is suitable for tender with any supplier.

Independent assessment prior to award
We examine third-party proposals before award: sizing, technical omissions, degree of dependence on a single manufacturer and total cost of ownership over a five-year horizon.

Continuous support to the operation
We assume the network engineering function: change review, integrator oversight, availability reporting and an infrastructure roadmap.

Environments where the network is critical infrastructure
We operate in contexts where a network outage halts haulage, irrigation, dispatch or pumping. Dust, distance, vibration, temperature and available power entirely determine which solution is appropriate. That is the difference between designing for an office and designing for a site.

Methodology
Methodology
The service is structured in four stages and may be engaged in full or stage by stage.

Survey
Site visit, field measurements and interviews with operations personnel. Without this stage, any subsequent recommendation is conjecture.

Diagnosis
A report of findings, associated risks and operational impact, written in terms accessible to management and not solely to the systems function.

Proposal
Alternatives compared on cost, schedule and technical trade-offs. One is recommended and the choice is substantiated.

Delivery
Oversight of the appointed integrator, validation against specification and documentation of the final installed condition.
Independence
Technical independence
We represent no brands and receive no manufacturer commission. We work with Cisco, Mikrotik, Ubiquiti, Cambium, Aruba and any other appropriate equipment; the choice follows the case, not the margin. Where the sound recommendation is to make no change, the report states so.
In parallel we develop our own Linux-based hardware for industrial scenarios the commercial catalogue does not serve adequately. It is proposed only where the case warrants it.
